DO NOT USE THIS GUY FOR WILLS OR ANYTHING RELATING TO THE WINDING UP OF A RELATIVES ESTATE.

He took 14 months to wind up my late mother's fairly simple estate, for which he'd written the will. Because he'd listed himself as co-executor it made it difficult to get rid of him.

Consistently failed to return calls. Consistently rude on the phone.

Always gave the impression he couldn't wait to get off the phone when I did get hold of him.

At one point assured me he was submitting papers to the court, then when I phoned two weeks later told me he was missing some minor piece of information (which he could have asked me for) and hadn't been able to proceed.

Usually blamed my late mother's financial advisor for missing documents.

10 months into our case he really took his ball in when I told him he would not be handling the sale of my late mother's house because he'd been so slow at everything else.

When I tried to talk to him about possible arbitration over his handling of the estate (following the Law Society of Scotland's recommended processes in such situations) he took the hump, stopped working on the case for two weeks, and then sent me a letter refusing arbitration and offering to hand me all the paperwork and let me start again at the beginning of the process myself.

I really should have made an official complaint to the Law Soc' Scotland (I've actually downloaded the forms) but they'll just close ranks, so what's the point?
